On February 15, 2022, Miles Guo filed a voluntary Chapter 11 petition commencing the case between Miles Guo, the debtor, Pacific Alliance Asia Opportunity Funds, L.P., the main creditor, and Rui Ma, Weican Meng, Zheng Wu as other creditors. The debt was approximately $254,000,000.00.On June 30, 2022, attorney Joe D. Whitley was appointed as United States Trustee in the best interests of creditors and the estate. On July 7, 2022, Department of Justice changed trustee to Luc A. Despins from Paul Hastings LLP which has tremendous interests with the Chinese Communist Party and didn’t disclose to the court（Washington Times）. Miles Guo brought a motion to  repeal the appointment of Luc A. Despins on July 15, 2022.
